"Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance." Coco Chanel

I saw Coco Avant Chanel this past Sunday and was fascinated with the journey and development of Chanel into the renowned designer she became.

Watching her early life unfold was intriguing and beguiling, not least because the role is carried with aplomb by Audrey Tautou.

I’ve seen a few a reviews of the film, but this one from The Telegraph more accurately articulates the fascination I had with the film.

'but I was more interested in her character than the fashion. Her life is so rich, and her personality so unusual, that the story of her life is far greater than simply being a story of fashion. And I wanted to discover what lay behind the façade…'   Audrey Tautou.

I admire her aesthetic, determination and desire to be truly individual and create her own destiny.
